Position: Shipper
Department: Shipping and Receiving
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Hours: Rotating every 2 weeks, 9am-5pm then 7am-3pm
Overtime: As required

Job Function
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, follow all established procedures and policies for the packaging and shipping of finished product while prioritizing safety, quality and efficiency to meet the goals of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Shipper is responsible for following all safety and quality procedures including the wearing of all required personal protective equipment
  • Accurately identify, select and pick product and inventory for staging, packing, packaging and loading.
  • Load/unload trucks/trailers using a manual hand truck or forklift. Physical labor involved in this activity varies.
  • Pull finished inventory to the requirements of the pick ticket/order
  • May assist in packing orders as required by item/delivery type, and prepares for shipment
  • May assist in material handler duties when necessary.
  • Ensures that orders are staged correctly for each delivery
  • May assist in placing/moving items in inventory
  • Assist in receiving raw goods into Syteline and label product accordingly.
  • Participate in conducting warehouse inventory counts as required.
  • Package and label products accordingly when necessary.
  • Supports and maintains overall shop efficiency by keeping work areas clean and safe
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work weekends as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Forklift certification required (Training available within the facility)
  • Ability to operate a strapping tool and stretch-wrap machine
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a group
  • High school diploma, General Education Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent experience
  • Ability to use ERP system and supporting equipment to manage product inventory and shipping schedule

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing environment: Temperature may/will exceed 90+ degrees
  • Coating factory environment: nuisance odors
  • Varying noise levels
  • Fast-paced work
  • Powered industrial truck traffic

Physical Demands

  • Standing: Frequent, long periods
  • Walking: Frequent
  • Manually select a wide variety of products for packing, packaging and shipment
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Work in a fast pace environment with a high focus on safety and customer service
  • Close interaction and work within a team environment
  • Power Equipment certification required
