Storage Conditions Tips:

It is important to remember that storage conditions can have a huge effect on the shelf life and dependability of tape. As most adhesives are a semi liquid material, high and low temperature exposure can change the desired performance of a tape. When they get very hot (above 150F), the adhesive will begin to flow and may thin out and/or ooze beyond the liner. It is important to store your tapes in these recommended storage conditions:

  • 68 – 72° F / 20 – 22° C
  • 50% relative humidity
  • Rolls stored flat in their original packaging, spools should be stored with the arrows on the box in the correct position and both always from direct sources of UV (i.e., lights, sun).

Infinity Tapes adhesive technology is based on hot melt adhesives, which are unique in their own right. These adhesives exhibit a soft and pliable structure, which provides the ability to flow into the fibers of paper as well as adhere well to low surface energy films. However, the adhesives do have a narrow band of operating temperature – from approximately 30 degrees F to about 150 degrees F. Ideally, the tapes should be applied at an ambient temperature to allow a secure bond. If these adhesives are stored at colder or hotter temperatures than recommended, they should be “conditioned” prior to application. Meaning bringing them to an ambient temperature level prior to applying them. Remember, these are chemicals and thus reactive to environmental conditions.
